Mónica Jardim is the daughter of a Spanish mother and a Portuguese father. She studied at the  Spanish Institute of Lisbon and holds a degree in International Relations. She also taught at  Universidade Independente. 

She initially planned to pursue a diplomatic career or work for an NGO. However, in 2002, at the  invitation of the university's vice-rector, she enrolled in a postgraduate course in TV Presentation.  After being invited to a casting, fate led her to join TVI in 2004. Over the past 21 years, she has  presented numerous entertainment programmes. 

She is passionate about television and the art of communication. With a full heart and a  microphone in hand, she moves forward always ready to give her best, confident that television is  where she truly belongs.
