Chef, northern soul, devoted to creatively reimagining and elevating traditional Portuguese cuisine.
Marlene Vieira is currently the only woman to have a Michelin star in Portugal. Passionate about cooking since the age of 12, she launched her solo career in 2012 with the opening of Avenue, right in the heart of Lisbon, followed by her food corner at the Time Out Market - milestones that set her apart in the national culinary scene and helped establish her as a key reference. Today, she runs three distinct restaurants, each with a unique concept but united by a common thread: celebrating Portuguese flavors through global techniques. These include Marlene Vieira (at the Time Out Market) offering traditional cuisine, Zunzum Gastrobar, and Marlene, her fine dining restaurant and the recent recipient of a Michelin star. Throughout her career, she has also appeared on shows like Chefs' Academy, MasterChef, and Cozinha de Chef, which led to the publication of related cookbooks. She has also released two titles under her own name: “Os Doces da Chef Marlene” and “Cozinha de Chef”, volumes 1 and 2.
