Journalist with a background in food writing, offering a critical perspective on everything we eat.
Edgardo Pacheco, born in the Azores, has been a food journalist for 25 years.
He currently holds a degree in Media and has pursued postgraduate studies in diverse fields such as human geography, cultural project management, oenology, and marketing. He avoids narrow specialization, finding it dull, and instead chooses to write about everything that’s edible, from wine and olive oil to fish, meat, cheese, potatoes, and honey.
In the Público newspaper, he created the editorial projects Terroir, Todo o Peixe é Nobre (“All Fish is Noble”), and Escola do Gosto (“School of Taste”). He is also the author of Os 100 Melhores Azeites de Portugal (“The 100 Best Olive Oils of Portugal”) and co-organizer, alongside two other friends, of the Douro's Oxheart Tomato Contest.
